Uniform policy

Student Dress Code

Student dress code for various occasions is as follows:
(1) In royal ceremonies or state ceremonies, students dress as specified in the schedule, or order of the university.
(2) In class attendance
Undergraduate students typically wear regular uniforms unless their instructor requires them to wear polite clothes, as instructed by the Dean. Exceptions apply to undergraduate students in programs that only accept bachelor’s degree graduates, who are required to dress in polite clothes.
(3) In the examination
Undergraduate students wear regular uniforms. Exceptions apply to undergraduate students in programs that only accept bachelor degree graduates, who are required to dress in polite clothes.
(4) To contact the university departments and offices
Undergraduate students dress in regular uniforms or polite clothes.
(5) For participation in various university activities, with no additional dress code requirements, students can dress in general attire such as sleeveless shirts, skirts, or pants that do not look precarious or expose their bodies too much in a manner that is considered inappropriate for civilians.

Regular uniform, ceremonial uniform or state ceremony, and formal uniform shall be enforced with undergraduate students.

Students may wear the uniform as described above according to their birth sex or gender expressed.

(1) White shirt with a collar and sleeves, without patterns and not tight fitting, with white buttons. The length of the shirt should extend beyond the waist and must be kept tucked into the pants at all times.
(2) International pants shall be made of navy or black fabric, not shiny, and without patterns. Denim, flannel, or corduroy must not be used.
(3) Socks that are above ankle length, black, dark brown or navy.
(4) Black closed-toe shoes without open-toe.
(5) Black leather belt 3 centimeters wide with a silver metal rectangular shaped buckle, 3.5 centimeters wide and 5 centimeters long, with university emblems embossed on it according to the university.
(6) In case of a tie, use a navy or black tie with the university’s emblem.

 

 

(1) White shirt, without a pattern, the fabric is quite thick. The shirt is loose, and the size is appropriate, beautiful, and not too tight. Pointed shirt collar that is moderately long and welt along the edge of the collar. The length of the shirt should extend beyond the waist and must be kept tucked into the skirt. The shoulder length should be optimal, and the back of the shirt at the middle should have a pleat of 3 centimeters. In addition, the front of the shirt should have a pleat of 3 centimeters, with 5 metal emblems representing the university. The short sleeves should extend to 6 centimeters below the elbow. At the end of the sleeve, there should be an additional cuff layer extending 3 centimeters on the forearm and 6 centimeters on the back of the arm. Double seam throughout the shirt. The shirt should have a double seam throughout.


(2) The skirt should be made of navy or black fabric without a pattern, and should not be shiny. It can be pleated or plain but should not have a slit unless it is a straight-cut skirt with a slit at the back where the pleats overlap. The length of the skirt should be between the knee and ankle at the waist level. Denim fabric, flannel fabric, corduroy fabric, stretch fabric, lace fabric, or velvet fabric should not be used.
For first-year students, use a pleated skirt.


(3) The emblem of Phra Kiao, as designated by the university, should be painted in silver metal and be three centimeters high. It should be adorned on the right breast of the uniform.


(4) The belt should be made of dark brown felt or nubuck and should be 3.5 centimeters wide. It should have a drawstring, with a pointed end, and the belt buckle should be made of silver metal in the shape of a square, measuring 4 centimeters. The emblem of Phra Kiao should be on the belt buckle. The belt should be tied over the middle of the skirt and the shirt.


(5) The shoes should be closed-toe or have heel straps and should not be open-toe or have a wedge. They should be black, white, brown, navy blue, or gray.
For first-year students, plain white closed-toe shoes without an open toe or wedge should be worn. White socks that extend above the ankle should be worn with the shoes.

 

Sport Facilities

Stadiums

  1. You can play football, beach volleyball, and do track & field at Inseechandrasatitya Stadium (Insee Chantara Satit Stadium or Sanarm Insee for short)
  2. You can play basketball, volleyball, badminton, and lawn tennis at the Gymnasium. You can also do fencing, boxing, and weight-training there.
  3. You can play table tennis and do Thai fencing and shooting at Thepsatsatit (Tape Sart Satit) building. However it is being demolished to make way for the Student Activities Building construction project.
  4. You can do Karate, Judo and Taekwondo at Multi-Purpose Building
  5. You can find hockey, softball stadiums and the Sports Science Research Center at Thira Sutabutra Stadium. (Sanarm teera Sue tabut)
  6. There are rugby, basketball and archery stadiums
  7. There are petanque, takraw and outdoor volleyball stadium

Chulabhorn Walailak Swimming Pool (pronounced as Chulaporn Walailak)

The pool provides training facilities for swimmers of all levels from amateurs to national athletes. The pools are also available for the general public in order to promote health and wellness.

There are four kinds of pools:

  1. Standard swimming pool 

It is appropriate for competitive swimming (length 50 meters, width 25 meters, depth 1.80 meters)

  1. Diving pool with platforms (length 20 meters, width 18 meters, depth 5 meters)
  2. Two training pools with a covered roof

It is appropriate for beginners. (length 25 meters, width 12 meters, depth 80 centimeters)

  1. Swimming pool for competitive training or advanced fitness (length 25 meters, width 12 meters, depth of 1.2 meters)

Kasetsart University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (Rong Payabarn Sat Pad)

Kasetsart University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Bangkhen, is one of four animal hospitals managed by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University. The hospital focuses on the teaching and the research needs of Veterinary Medicine students. It also serves as a veterinary training facility. The hospital treats small animals, primarily dogs, cats, rabbits, as well as some exotic pets. The hospital’s highly trained, experienced professional staff has access to the latest modern medical equipment designed for the treatment of sick animals, which makes the hospital a relay center for animals from across the nation and from neighboring countries.

KU Happy Place Center

KU Happy Place Center is a part of the Department of Career Guidance and Employment within the Office of Student Affairs. The Center integrates two sections which work together to achieve its mission of student care. The first section focuses on students with disabilities and the other section promotes student well-being by focusing on career planning and employment advice.

The KU Happy Place Center provides several important services including

  • Educational support services to students with special needs
  • Group and personal counseling to students
  • Psychological tests to evaluate mental wellness
  • Projects which aims to develop students’ wellness and life skills (for all students, including students with disabilities)

KU Canteen 1 (Bar Mai gwa)
The canteen has retail stores and eateries that provide a wide variety of ready-to-eat food and cooked-to-order food. It also offer halal and vegetarian foods so that you do not have to violate your religious belief or personal value. The canteen also has a parking lot and an evening food market called “KU Night”.

There are various public transportations that can accommodate your travel around Bangkok.

Bus

There are 4 bus stops overall. BTS

Bangkok Mass Transit System or BTS has 2 lines of sky trains; the Green Line (Sukhumvit Line) and the Blue Line (Silom Line). To get to Kasetsart University, you need to go along the Green Line and then stop at Kasetsart University station. 

BTS is linked to other public transportations such as MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), and ARL (Airport Rail Link). They are quite helpful when traveling around Bangkok.

SRT Dark Red Line

The SRT (State Railways of Thailand) Dark Red Line is a part of the SRT Red Line suburban railway system aiming to serve the greater Bangkok Metropolitan. It runs for 26 km from Bang Sue Grand Station to Rangsit station. The nearest station from Kasetsart University is Bangkhen Station. The station is located near Vibavadhi (Wipawadee) gate. It can be reached through Agricultural Museum (Sumnak PiPittapan)

Kasersart University can be reached by various modes of transportation from all airports in Bangkok.

From Donmueang International Airport (DMK) to Kasetsart University

  1. To get to KU, you can take the following busesfrom Don Mueang International Airport
  • Take Bus number 29 (Rangsit – Hua Lamphong), then get off at Kasetsart University (Vibavadhi gate)
  • Take Bus number 59 (Rangsit – Sanam Luang), then get off at opposite Kasetsart University (Phahonyothin gate)
  • Take Bus number 187 (Uea Athon Village Khlong 3 – Si Phraya Pier), then get off at Kasetsart University (Vibavadhi gate)

  • Take Airport Rail Link to Phayathai Station, and then switch to take BTS Skytrain to Kasetsart University Station.
